More Dubai WiFi woes

Written on my laptop in the Emirates Lounge in Dubai airport and posted via free WiFi provided by the airport.

Following on from my last post from Dubai International airport, I have now got a slightly different problem. This time I can get a very good connection to the Emirates specific free WiFi service, but only a very minimal connection to the internet. This is essentially so bad that it is next to useless. I can only think that the actual internet connection for the access point is shared between all the provided desktop access and all WiFi users, and that the bandwidth of the connection can't cope with the number of users.

This time however I do have a reasonable connection to the free WiFi provided by the airport itself. On my last visit that also proved impossible. I suppose I shouldn't really complain no airport in the UK provides free WiFi access, although some airlines do in their business lounges. I am a bit surprised you don't see the odd laptop user hanging around the lounge areas piggybacking on the wireless access.
